What We Do
Bio·R is a grassroots charity that generates funds, knowledge and practical skills to reconstruct habitats to support native wildlife in degraded landscapes.
Our philosophy of what we do is built into our name. The B in Bio·R stands for Biodiversity and the R stands for Reconstruct, Research and Reconnect.
Reconstruct
Bio·R appreciates that to reconstruct habitat for biodiversity requires the development of complex habitat features at landscape and regional scales.
Research
We recognise the importance of science in planning to deliver this, so we support research to continually improve our theoretical and practical knowledge, such as improving our understanding of the habitat needs of declining species.
Reconnect
Bio·R also acknowledges the long-term commitment required to ensure the longevity of reconstructed habitats, so we work to reconnect the community to natural systems and to develop intergenerational ownership.
