Planting Festivals

Our flagship community events account for the bulk of our habitat reconstruction efforts.

Our planting festivals take place in June, when we are joined by hundreds of volunteers who come together to plant thousands of native seedlings, share a delicious lunch and connect with other like-minded individuals.

We start these festivals by giving volunteers an overview of the purpose of the planting event, why our plantings are important and how we plan to achieve them, which gives participants a great perspective on how their efforts are making a difference. These events are typically filled with an atmosphere of celebration; perhaps it’s the combination of spending time in fresh air, making new connections and the satisfaction of having made a real-world contribution to conservation.

We later send out species lists of what has been planted and give updates on watering activities and the status of plantings, so volunteers can follow the fate of the seedlings they have planted.

How can you get involved?

Donors and volunteers are crucial to support our annual planting festivals. If you are interested in helping, please consider making a regular donation to support our work and sign up to hear about volunteer opportunities at our planting festivals.
